“7 Reasons to put face-app down”

Hey Ladies,

I have to be real with you guys, you look like fucking clowns.

I’m not kidding.

With that being said,

Put the Face-App Down.

Do y’all know that we can in fact see yall?

We see each other.

Unattainable beauty standards are seriously affecting the self-esteem of women young and old.

Women are desperately seeking the perfect eyes, lips, cheeks, nose, booty, arms, or skin when in fact perfection literally does not exist.

Even the men like Drake and BandmanKevo are buying abs.

You wanna be Jayda Wayda.

We get it.

Of course, we want to look our best and invest in the best for ourselves but at what cost?

The cost of comparison? Low Self-Esteem?

When scrolling online looking at tons of beautiful women with “flawless” skin, makeup, hair, and coke shaped bodies, women begin to compare themselves to this “curated” image that simply is not real.

Do you want the perfect slim waist, thick thighs, and bubble butt like Draya’s?

Well, let me tell you something,

You’re never going to get it.

No matter how many squats you do in the gym, your body is yours.

Think about realistic and idealistic goals for yourself, because you’ll simply never achieve bodies that influencers and celebrities promote.

This is not to shame anyone, but simply here to have all women on the same page when it comes to us creating our own beauty standards.

None of it is real. It’s all Smoke & Mirrors.

In all honesty, I was thinking the ladies were killing their makeup but to my surprise it was the Hollywood Face-App filter.

Hate to say it, but so many women are beginning to look the same. Except for Pusha T’s wife of course.

Creating your own identity and validation is vital to being healthy and not projecting your insecurities. Understand how your own beauty is perceived.

What is your favorite feature(s) about yourself? When do you feel most beautiful?

Start to become obsessed with yourself. Step into vanity.

TAP INTO YOUR OWN SEX APPEAL AND SEDUCTION.

But most imporantly leave that dope alone.

We are living in a digital era so, the usage of filters is quite normal but if you feel the need to photoshop, face-app, and tune every single photo of you, you have to get a grip on reality.

To be honest, we don’t know who that woman is.

Feeling beautiful is subjective and totally up to you and your own standards. Nobody else’s.

The convenience and visibility of social media has added fuel to the fire (beauty standards) that already existed. Pushing the limits to unattainable measures. We were never meant to see this many people in our lives.

Women have always been policed about how they look, and beauty standards are always trending + changing.

So don’t constantly chase beauty instead maintain what you have with your own individualized beauty goals.

The industry has always gaslit women into consumerist tactics. Wishing and preying that women continue to buy into their own insecurities so they can buy into their companies.

Yes, we need products and healthy habits to maintain but we don’t need overconsumption, nitpicking, nor low self-esteem.

On a serious note,

It don’t feel crazy having an entire different face on every photo?

Faces

Faces

If you’re confident and beautiful, trust me you don’t need an app to validate that.

Protect your mental health and self-image. Fall in love with your body and face no matter what stage it’s in.

Textured skin, hyperpigmentation, breakouts, uneven-ness cellulite, big booty, lil booty, fupa and all. Embrace where you’re at.

Don’t get me wrong, taking care of your beauty and body is a must.

The problem comes when you don't feel the same internally as you try to express it externally.

It creates delulu.

So many women become addicted to touching their faces and bodies because they are never satisfied and always think something should be improved.

The use of filters reinforces narrow beauty standards and creates false personas on social media platforms. It’s because of this that people feel more confident on social media than in real life due to the use of filters and Photoshop.

Women have the power to go against the beauty standards they set for us.

”7 Reasons to Put Face-App Down”

  1. It’s extremely noticeable and simply does not look good.

  2. You’re harming your self-image & feeding your subconscious conflicting perceptions of yourself.

  3. Comparison to others. Don’t chase others’ beauty, maintain your own.

  4. You’re perpetuating a narrow beauty standard that does not exist.

  5. You don’t look like that.

  6. Fixation & Nitpicking at yourself.

  7. You’re Beautiful!

So all of this to say, log off the internet for once.

Begin to curate your own timeline with healthy messages and images from influencers. Take social media breaks. Define your own beauty. Validate yourself. Filters are fun, but don’t get caught up in the glitz and glam.

Know when you’re feeling confident vs. not having the best beauty day. Know how far you’re willing to go to reach your beauty goals.

Become so vain about yourself that nothing or no one can shake you. Have your own perception of what beauty means to you.

This isn’t a “lip gloss & mascara only blog” nor is it a “do men still like natural women blog”. Simply here to encourage women to put the face-app filters down and tap into their own beauty.

& Please don’t end up botched because of the fake shit you see on social media.

We all are created beautifully and uniquely.

But yes, Kylie Jenner did in fact need those lips.

I Love us fr.
